Mary Sky Schoolcraft
Biography
My paintings are my humble attempt to capture a little of the feeling of living in lush Hawaii. Most of my subject matter is literally found in my own backyard, such as the clothesline strung between two palm trees, the brilliantly colored heliconia flowers, or the plantation era cottages. I love the tropical plants and the ambiance of Kohala. I paint from life in oils, plein aire. While the shapes and colors are found here, my style has been called magical realism.
