Biography
Art has always been in my heart and finally is manifesting itself on canvas, board, and sketchpad. I started sketching and drawing portraits while in college. I then dropped my efforts for several years while pursuing a career in the Hawaiian Sugar Industry. I finally resumed my artistic endeavors in 2000 after retirement. I have lived in Hawaii all my life but recently purchased a home in Kingston, Washington where my wife and I presently reside about half of the time.
Trial and error has been my experience. However, I did take several lessons in 2000 in oils. More recently I've been in acrylics. I'm also trying colored pencils, pastels, and watercolors. Finding the right medium is my main concentration at present.
I wish to capture nature in a representation that allows the viewer to say AH...YES! I want the viewer to feel something within while looking at a piece of this world that I have frozen in time. The world is full of beauty. I hope to capture some of it. Aloha.
